Amy Brown – Distinguished Speaker Series Event

Amy Brown is speaking to the students of the Advertising program at St. Clair College.

WHEN: Wednesday, March 21st, 2018 @ 10:00am-12:00pm
WHERE: St. Clair College Centre for the Arts – Ballroom on 2nd Floor

The Advertising program at St. Clair College is excited to announce Amy Brown as the keynote speaker in the program’s “Distinguished Speaker Series”. Steve McEachern, coordinator of the Advertising program states, “Amy Brown is a great addition to the speaker series. Her rich, funny, sarcastic and exciting approach to social media for the likes of Wendy’s will provide students with incredible insight into the industry and inspire them for their future careers”.

Amy Brown, a Columbus, Ohio native, was the manager of the Wendy’s® social media team. She and her team were responsible for industry leading social conversations on Twitter that have garnered industry acclaim and national news attention. Her progress and accomplishments have been featured on CNBC, Entrpreneur.com, Adweek, Huffington Post, Business Insider and the Wall Street Journal.

If you are involved in social media, you may recall the “Nuggs for Carter Campaign” where Carter Wilkerson tweeted at Wendy’s asking how many retweets it would take to get a year of free chicken nuggets. The resulting exchange went viral and ended up surpassing Ellen’s infamous Oscar selfie for Samsung® as the most retweeted tweet of all-time. This was one of their many social media interactions.

The Advertising program is excited to have Amy Brown speak to our program as well as other programs at St. Clair College and members of the local business community. It is rare for a company to consistently generate positive national news attention through organic social media marketing and it is our goal for Ms. Brown to share some of her experience and tips to the students.

“This is a rare opportunity for St. Clair College and the local business community” states Steve McEachern. “We have the person responsible for the most talked about social media account for the past two years speaking to our students and local businesses. I am excited to hear what she has to say and very happy that she has agreed to take part in our speaker series to share her insight with our future business leaders”.
