Len has worked in the Marketing and Advertising business for forty years, twenty of them in industry and the last twenty as a Professor. Before beginning his teaching career, he spent five years working at J. Walter Thompson, one of the world’s largest Advertising and Marketing Communications Companies. His last position at JWT was General Manager of their Vancouver Office.

Len has worked in the Marketing and Advertising business for forty years, twenty of them in industry and the last twenty as a Professor. Before beginning his teaching career, he spent five years working at J. Walter Thompson, one of the world’s largest Advertising and Marketing Communications Companies. His last position at JWT was General Manager of their Vancouver Office.

He began his career at Gillette as a Marketing Research Analyst and progressed to the position of Assistant Brand Manager on their Blades and Razors business. He moved to Brooke Bond Foods as Marketing Manager on their beverages business, which included Red Rose Tea and Blue Ribbon Coffee. He next took a position at MacLaren McCann where he eventually became Vice President responsible for the Molson Breweries business. Moving back to Marketing Management, he was Chief Marketing Officer at Mother’s Restaurants, which was at that time the largest Pizza chain in Canada, with sales of $200,000,000.

He has managed twelve new product launches and sixteen new business pitches. His brand responsibilities have included Molson, Pepsi, Clairol, Catelli, Gillette, Hellman’s, Laura Secord, Hyatt Hotels, Skippy Peanut Butter, Cottonelle, Scotties Facial Tissues, Cloverleaf, Pfizer, Coty Cosmetics, BC Rail, the Worker’s Compensation Board of British Columbia, and Habitant soups.

As team coach, he has led our St. Clair College students to twelve Gold, four Silver and four Bronze medals in National and Provincial Advertising competitions, making out program the most awarded advertising program in Canada.

Len completed his undergraduate degree in Theoretical Mathematics and also holds a Master’s Degree in Education.
